Daniel Gélin
A former student of the lycée Institution Saint-Malo, Daniel Gélin was in the same classes as Jean Le Bot, university professor and lover of navy. He moves to Paris where it follows courses of dramatic art of René Simon. He then auConservatoire national dramatic art and meeting Louis Jouvet. He began a career in the theatre and made his first appearance on the screen in 1940. It allows you to Louis de Funès to get its first film roles (with The Temptation of Barbizon by Jean Stelli's 1945), the latter, considering him as the one who had launched careers, nicknamed the" My chance ". In the 1950s, he became a young first to the mode thanks to its very modern and its physical surroundings. In actor passionate about poetry, Daniel Gélin gives two collections of poems : Jumble (1950) and Drift (1965), as well as an anthology of his choice in the poetic, that he entitles Poems to say, and that seems to editions Seghers, with a preface welcoming of Jean Vilar. On Friday November 29, 2002, he succumbed to kidney failure. He is buried in the cemetery of Rocabey in Saint-Maloen Ille-et-Vilaine.
