The man who inspired Paul Thomas Andersen's sweeping epic BOOGIE NIGHTS, 1970's porn star John Holmes, is profiled in this in-depth documentary. The famously well-endowed adult star's career came to a tragic end, when he died of AIDS, spurred on by years of drug addiction. In between birth and death, however, many dramas occurred -- the rise to fame, the glamorous Hollywood life, and of course, his involvement with the Wonderland Murders. See John Holmes' fabulous rise to fame; listen to his elaborate fabrications; witness the aftermath of the gruesome Wonderland murders; follow his downward spiral into the abyss of drug addiction and AIDS, all set against the glamorously sordid backdrop of 1970s Hollywood. Get an inside look at the man known to be a generation as The King of Porn--who claimed to be, and who he really was.
