Host John Nesbitt presents wry and sometimes tongue-in-cheek commentary on the origins of many of today's seemingly meaningless rituals including hand-shaking, hat-tipping to women, shaving, clinking glasses, a finger bowls, the tradition of the wedding ring and bridal veil, kissing, the blunted table knife, and the breaking of a wine bottle at ship launchings.
