Vladimir Menshov

Born on 17 September 1939 in Baku (Azerbaijan SSR). Father Valentin Menshov (1912-1974) was a sailor, then worked in the NKVD (the commander of the Order of the red Star), mother — Antonina Alexandrovna Menshova (nee Dubovsky; 1905-1964), both natives of the Astrakhan region, in the capital, where Vladimir grew up.
