Globally, about one in every 15,000 children develop Retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer mostly detected in young children. 90% of these children are found to be living in developing countries. Lack of awareness of the disease results in delayed detection. Therefore, despite being a treatable cancer, in cases where Retinoblastoma affects both eyes of a child, surgeons are often compelled to remove them completely in order to save his/her life. Even though they receive financial assistance, many poor parents living in backward places withdraw their children from treatment and leave them to die untreated. Visionless is the story of one such ill-fated child.
