Vadym Homoliaka

Ukrainian Soviet composer. The honored worker of arts of the USSR (1958), laureate of the Stalin prize (1951). Wrote the music for the film "For two hares". From 1939 till 1941 he studied at the historical-theoretical faculty of the Kiev Conservatory, and from 1941 to 1942- at the composition faculty of the Tashkent Conservatory. Fought with the Nazis. A year after the end of the war, in 1946 he graduated from the Kiev Conservatory (from Levko revutskiy). In 1946-1948, the teacher of theoretical subjects at the Kiev Conservatory. In 1951-1956 — the Secretary of the Union of composers. From 1958 to 1976 — head of the Ukrainian branch of the Muzfond of the USSR. The author of ballets, symphonic and chamber works, Muzkomedii, music for films, including "chasing two hares", "the Keys of heaven", "dawn over the Carpathians" and many other works.
