An itsy-bitsy mouse who lives with his grandfather in a cosy nest somewhere in a small cottage, whenever he sees the stars, he dreams of touching one of them. So, up he climbs on broomsticks and trees, but in vain, the stars are so far away and his poor grandfather is worried sick every time his fearless grandson leaves the nest. And then, unexpectedly, on the night of Christmas, for the first time in his life, the young mouse sees the most brilliant star of them all atop the Christmas tree. Is it a dream? After all, the toys and the ornaments on the tree want to change his mind, furthermore, somewhere in a dark corner, the house cat is watching.
