Youssef's niece Saida finds her boyfriend, the young doctor Hagen Hoffmann, slain in their apartment. Based on the victim's computer activities, the police assume that the crime was committed in a drug environment. But Saida is certain: Hagen definitely had nothing to do with drugs. She assigns Anne and Youssef to find the killer. During their investigation, the two detectives come across clues that Hagen had another girlfriend besides Saida. On top of that, there was a heated argument in the aid organization in which Hagen last worked. Because Hagen had apparently discovered that his colleague Jonas had been bribed by a pharmaceutical company. It quickly becomes clear: This case is bigger than initially assumed - and the perpetrator is already on their heels. And then there is Anne's son Florian, who has been in mortal danger since his escape from the prison. A race against time begins.
