The Director is Busy (1945)
"Direktörn är upptagen/The director is busy". Why is the director busy? Because he is pursuing his hobby, a recreation that, according to this 1945 movie, is good in every way. If you look up what hobby really means, in a British etymological encyclopedia, will learn that the word originates from a wooden horse. A toy horse introduced in the 16th century, consisting of a circular wooden frame hanging on your shoulders. Playing with the wooden horse - sometimes called "Hobby" - became a synonym for keeping up with your favorite pastime.
