Shining Star (1985)

A best-ever musical drama helps us learn about admiring someone and being admired. Dorinda Pineda dreamed of being just like her favorite musician, Lavinia Arguelles. Dorinda is Lavinia's Number-1 fan; Lavinia is Dorinda's inspiration and her every dream. When the time comes, Dorinda also becomes a well-known singer, which makes Lavinia very jealous. Tensions, conflicts, and triumphs start up between the two singers, but despite life's difficulties and harsh realities, Dorinda meets and becomes friends with Lavinia's boyfriend, Nico Escobar, to dethrone Lavinia and realize her dreams. The film also exposes the ills and evils of glamour, success, and fame. Will Dorinda and Nico find true love in the end?
