In contrast to the high-end 2K digital technology used to restore MANHATTA, I learned filmmaking on a 35mm Oxberry beam-splitter, multi-head, aerial-image bi-pac optical printer. A dinosaur by today's standards and all hand operated. Pt. 3 took twenty-six hours to shoot straight through without one mistake. "Sappho" was Barbara Lattanzi's dog; and "Jerry" was the Chicago deli owner made famous by Tom Palazollo's film. - Bruce Posner [Do not adjust your horizontal. Do not adjust your vertical.
