Roland Lesaffre

After a youth that was adventurous, it was from the 1950s a favorite actor of Marcel Carné. He has played a great number of secondary roles, on a recurring basis with a number of renowned directors (Marcel Carné and Sacha Guitry, Alfred Hitchcock, Jean-Pierre Melville, Henri Decoin, etc). He was less present on the screens from the 1970s. He had a romantic relationship with Marcel Carné, although he himself was nuanced : he felt that the relationship between the filmmaker and him were the" homosensualité " and not homosexuality. He has published his autobiography under the title Mataf (editions Pygmalion, 1991). He has been married with actress Yoko Tani, and then with the actress Tania Busselier.
