Rising Heartbeats is an experimental and sensual exploration of the human experience. In a world in which emotions are govern-mentally forbidden; peculiar and exclusive parties are appearing in the upper echelons of society, allowing those fortunate enough to receive an invite to experience feeling again. Attending one of these, Bartolomeo, an influential journalist, snaps into existence from the heavy thud of his rising heartbeat and discovers a carnival of the carnal senses. There, Bartolomeo faces his past and discovers that dealing with trauma seems impossible in a world that does not allow for emotions.
