Pierre Jourdan
Man of the theatre, an actor of many facets, Pierre Jourdan begins in the lead role of the operetta Three Waltzes in 1952 at the théâtre de la Gaîté-Lyrique with Germaine Roger. He has also participated in the great adventure of the festival of Aix-en-Provence as an assistant to its founder and directeurGabriel Dussurget. Between 1968 and 1977, Pierre Jourdan has made a dozen film adaptations and audio-visual tragedies, and operas (Fidelio turned to the ancient Theatre of Orange, Phaedra, The Troubadour, Tristan and Isolde, Norma,Aida,...). In 1982, he has worked with Peter Brook for the realization of The Tragedy of Carmen, reducing the opera of Bizet. In 1984-1985, he realized with Eve Ruggieri a series of seven programs devoted to French song. Subsequently, Pierre Jourdan has staged Chives, Reynaldo Hahn, who was given in Monte-Carlo, Montpellier etNancy and adaptation for France 2. In 1986, he produced a series of eight programs entitled The wizard of Aix on the history of the Festival of Aix-en-Provenceavec Gabriel Dussurget and the great names of the song discovered at Aix.
