Peter Kitter
Peter Kitter (really Christian Johan Peter Alfred Petersen) was trained in singing at Immanuel Franksens dramatic school. In 1938, he bought his childhood nickname of "Kitter" as the name of the artist for 33 kr. and 33 ear. He won in 1939, a nation-wide refrainsangerkonkurrence and then got the multiple exposures around the country. He made his debut as an actor in a Stentoft revue in 1939 and appeared in Zigeunerhallen along with Wandy Tworek and Leo Mathiasen. After the war, appeared Peter Kitter with cabaret in the american zone in Germany. Gradually, he won a name as a parodist's first american croonere and since the domestic celebrities. In 1954, he started a one-man-show with performances as a parodist at festivals and in clubs and he performed in many years of touring the country with musician Kai Kilian. He was loved for his excellent skills as a parodist - parodied bl.a. Elga Olga, Poul Reumert, Helge Kjærulff-Schmidt, Maurice Chevalier and his big idol Bing Crosby. Peter Kitter also starred in several revues, especially in the 1950s, where he appeared in several Elsinore revues, in Cirkusrevyen and at the ABC Theatre in blix. In 1957, he was both a writer, actor and director at the Nykøbing Falster Revue. His last revyoptræden was in Ebeltoft Revue in the summer of 1982. Peter Kitter also had more serious roles, bl.a. on turnéteatre and at the Gladsaxe Theatre. In a period of time he was held omsorgskonsulent in Ældreklubbernes Interaction. Peter Kitter was the 21. June 1940 married in Roskilde Cathedral with Grethe Eleonora Rosted. He is the father of Bjarne Kitter, who as a boy had roles in several Danish films.Peter Kitter was married two times. In his second marriage he was married to Lis Kitter (born Iversen).
