Ole Ishøy
Ole Ishøy, who was the son of Axel Rasmussen and wife, Inger Margrethe Ishøy, was a pupil of Agnes Rehni and was educated at Privatteatrenes elevskole at The new Theatre, with the departure in 1957. He participated in the Vasaseminarer and was on study trips to Stockholm, London, Berlin and Paris, as well as he efteruddannede at the national theatre School. He made his debut 3/2 1956 as Sebastian in "twelfth night" at Folketeatret in Copenhagen. He had engagements at Andelsteatret, Illums tour, the Odense Theatre, 1964-1968, Ålborg Teater, Gladsaxe Theatre, Fiolteatret, The new Theatre, The Danish Theatre and was for some years associated with Folketeatret before he was free lance. On TV, he starred as Finn in "Frk. Mathilde" and as Frederick in "the Pelican". He had film roles, bl.a. in "Echo of a shot" and in several foreign productions. Besides work as an actor, he was also the director and teacher at elevskoler. Numerous performances passed through his hands, like several of the theater-genres kept him busy - from the revue to the tragic theatre. Among his last duties was the staging of Bjarne Reuter's "The crazy land" for Fiolteatret and the performance of its role as the master of ceremonies in the Danish teaterversion of the musical "Cabaret". Ole Ishøy was married to and divorced from Birgit Ishøy, born Wagner.
