The death of a loved one is always hard, but when that loved one is a young child, the death seems all the more difficult to handle. The Fosters' seven year old son died just before Christmas, Margo's faith in God died, too. Now, one year later, she is constantly reminded of her loss. In order to help her deal with her grief, Dennis suggests a holiday backpacking trip. Alan, a dedicated young Christian boy is on the trip. He is able to lead Margo to a better understanding of Christmas.
