Dana Andrews, who was the son of composer and conductor Ludwig Andrews, had Henrik Malberg and Holger Gabrielsen as teachers and was educated at the Danish Skolescene in 1926 and made his debut as an actor at the Aarhus Theatre in 1925, to which he was attached in the seasons 1926-27 - 1927-28. He also took an instructor who gave him debut with the Kaj Munk play "Crucible". After some years at the copenhagen scenes, - the dagmar theatre, Alléscenen, The new Theatre and touring bl.a. as a guest on The National Scene in Bergen, he came back to Aarhus Theatre 1938 to 1944 as an instructor, fol.a. of friluftsspillene 1941-43. He staged also the pageant bl.a. in Kalundborg and Viborg. He dramatized and staged "The little mermaid" for Pingklubben at the Nørrebro Theatre in 1943, and a biblical christmas play, in which he also played the Snake and the Devil, on the Alléscenen in 44. There he was director in 1944/45. In 1959 he was at the Aveny Teatret as Izo in "Aunt Mamie", and in the 60's he played the lead role dry goods store Black in "the Scapegoat" on Landsskolescenen. In 1961 duplicate he as Vanderbilt in "Knickerbocker Holiday" at Folketeatret, and there he was Brighella in One servant and two masters" in the 63. He played at the jeronimo in "Abracadabra" in The Old Town in Aarhus and toured with the Danish Folkescene as Andreas Blegnæb in "twelfth night" in 62. On Omegnsteatret in the Midwest, he played Apollion in "Romulus the Great" and the King in "the Dream". He served as the head of the pageant at the byjubilæer, but skuespillerkarrieren also led to major roles in numerous scenes, for example. as Henrik in "The political kandestøber", Per Degn in "Erasmus Montanus", Fagin in "Oliver Twist" and Vielgeschrei in "The stundesløse". Dana Andrews had the majority of exposures at the Aarhus Theatre, the Dagmar Theatre, The new Theatre and on the Nationalscenen in Bergen. In recent years, he had minor roles in the light repertoire at the copenhagen theatres, fol.a. on Amager Scene.
