Marcel Pérès
Marcel Pérès is the son of a father hairdresser, the latter disappeared while the little Marcel was only eight years old. His mother remakes her life with a certain Paul Peres, who heads a troupe of travelling theatre. It is the vocation of the Marcel, as well as his sister Jane who will be a little cinema under the name of Jeanne Pérez. Between 1914 and 1934, Marcel Pérès doing odd jobs, participating in performances of showmen, as a stagehand in theater, appearing in the " tours Baret ", and even as a taxi driver. He landed a small role in a review of " Rip " (Georges-Gabriel Thenon). Then, helped by his friends Jean Gabin and Roger Blin, he ended up by imposing on the cinema in the 1930s. He followed that up a few masterpieces, such as Goupi Red Hands of Jacques Becker, Les enfants du paradis by Marcel Carné (1945), or Justice is made by André Cayatte (1950). He played in eight of the films of Jean-Pierre Mocky. In theatre, Jean Anouilh often appeals to him, it is particularly evident in The Rendez-vous de Senlis, the Invitation to The castle, Ardèle or the Marguerite, Eurydice and Antigone.
