The journey of a young man to Sicily, the land of his childhood. The novel 'Conversazione in Sicilia,' written in 1938 by the author Elio Vittorini is about the conversations that took place on this journey. The orange picker and his wife, the Messrs. Coi-Baffi (Mr With-Whiskers) and Senza-Baffi (Mr Without-Whiskers), the Great Lombarde, the mother Signora Concezione and the scissor grinder. They all speak to the traveler about essential aspects of their lives: food and hunger, work, work, strikes, denunciation and adultery, childbirth, belief and death.
