K.L. Saigal

Kundan Lal Saigal, often abbreviated as K. L. Saigal was the moment, the Indian singer and actor who is considered the first superstar of the Hindi film industry, which was centred in Kolkata Saigal during it's time, but is currently centered in Mumbai. Saigal's unique baritone voice was a Tenor, which was a mixture of soft and quality the benchmark for most of the singers who followed him. In fact even today it remains the gold standard very early and primitive recording technology practically shining through.
