Josef Somr

Josef Somr

Josef Somr was born in the moravian village of Vracov u Kyjova as the middle of three brothers. My parents had a small farm and a small Joseph on him from early childhood had to help. Father, the original profession of a carpenter, found the place on the track, and gradually went through all the professions, to become výpravčím. His son so he could intimately familiar with the work in the warehouse, the depot and the station. Josef Somr soon managed to remodel the dormitory or build a signal. These experiences he would later use when he was filming his most famous film closely WATCHED TRAINS. In their 14 years was indeed convinced that he will go in his father's footsteps and become a železničářem. But after arriving at the kyjov gymnasium he found out that he had no aptitude for technical subjects and his study results were embarrassing. The application of the brno JAMU filed basically by accident, when he couldn't decide what to do after graduation. According to their words used to be in childhood greatly timid, yet in the small roles he has performed with local amateur actors and this experience with him to school use. In the course of the study came to acting at the taste and quickly catch up education - he was interested in music and literature. In 1956 I graduated and went to his first engagement in Český Těšín. After two years he returned to Brno and for the next three years he worked in the Theater of the mrštík brothers. The following four years played on the stage of the theatre in Pardubice. The budding actor noticed the directing duo Klos and Kadár. They assigned him a small role of a doctor in the psychological drama the ACCUSED. Talent Joseph Somra interested director John Duck, and so in 1965, the actor won the engagement in a just zakládaném the Drama club. A year later, the it director Menzel chose the role of the railroad in its oskarovém picture closely WATCHED TRAINS. The success of the film meant penetration among the acting elite. In the following 35 years he was considered to be one of the best psychological actors in our territory, with the ability to play complicated, internal contradictions rozdírané characters. His specialty were all sorts of weaklings, schemers and hochštapleři, generally unsympathetic characters. Thanks to these roles Somr usually was not in the forefront of the leaderboards spectator popularity. In the 60's. years played in several high quality movies, as was a PRIVATE GALE, VALLEY of the BEES or MEMORIAL service, appreciated was his performance in the film adaptation of Kunderova novel PRANK, where convincingly played the bitter Louis Jakla as a man živícího the summer, hoping to take revenge for wrongs done to him in the distant past. Although it was Josef Somr a highly respected actor, it is interesting that the main role was getting the exception. Usually it was just přihrávačem or opponent of the main characters and appeared in the roles of secondary or minor importance. In 1974 he gained an interesting opportunity in the television series WAS ONCE a SINGLE HOUSE, where he played a disgruntled trafikanta a pack mule. A year later starred in the comic role of a strict teacher in the slide, WOW GUYS. In 1978, he transferred at the initiative of Miroslav Machacek in the National theatre and became one of the pillars of the file. He continued his film career, he appeared in the tales of the NINE HEARTS and the THREE VETERANS in the comedy BEWARE of ROUNDS or a CELEBRATION of SNOWDROPS, or in the drama of the environment alcohol rehab GOOD PIGEONS ARE RETURNING. In the 90's. years played as an officer in the BLACK BARONECH, however, significantly more space to him at that time gave the Czech television. Somrův pleasant voice several times took advantage of the creators of the večerníčkových series, e.g. in the ROAD FORMAN ŠEJTROČKA or in BOOGERS AND HASTRMANECH. His voice is as unsympathetic Bretschneider, also appeared in the animated FORTUNES of the GOOD SOLDIER SVEJK. Pronunciation also a number of documents and of course neglect and work in the dubbing. The large space gave him the radio, especially the station Vltava, where he e.g. participated in
