Joe and Roxy (1957)
The second of three dramas on adolescence written especially for the National Film Board's Perspective series, by Gordon Burwash. The story shows how the inadequate home life of Joe, a boy of 16, and Roxy, a 17-year-old girl, fails them. The film touches on many of the problems that face today's teen-agers - the problems of "going steady," of planning for a future in an insecure environment, of seeing education as something other than a means to an end, and of learning how to live in today's world.
