Iris Apfel (born August 29, 1921) is an entrepreneur, american interior designer and fashion icon. Young woman, Apfel worked for the daily Women's Wear Daily and for interior designer Elinor Johnson. She is also the assistant of the illustrator Robert Goodman1. In 1948, she married Carl Apfel. Two years later they launched the textile company Old World Weavers and the lead up to their retirement in 1992. Through their company, the couple begins to travel to the four corners of the world where she begins to find jewelry and clothing and crafts. She begins to wear these clothes in the social gatherings of their clients3. From 1950 to 1992, Iris Apfel is involved in several projects of design and restoration, as well as a job of decorating the White House for nine presidents : Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan and Clinton4. In early 2016, she becomes the muse of the car New DS3.
