Irene is a single mother that works in a photocopying business. She lives with Santiago, her seven year old son and her controlling mother Dinia. One day she meets Diego, they go out, she gets drunk and the failed date triggers in Irene a crisis concerning her sexuality, her motherhood and the relationship with her mother. Irene's new attitude provokes new conflicts with her mother and Santiago's claims for attention. One night she gets back from work and discovers that Santiago isn't sleeping in her room anymore and she confronts her mother. She leaves the house in desperation and accidentally arrives to a fair.
