"Free" is the name of a town founded in the 1970s in the Huerfano Valley, Colorado, by a group of young hippies. Only a handful of residents still live there; the children, having grown up in a magnificent nature, went to continue their journey elsewhere. The film follows George, Dean and Muffin, inhabitants of hippie communes in a remote Colorado valley, forty years after their settlement. In a ballad through time and space, these three characters tell their individual and collective stories. Wandering from abandoned to inhabited houses, they sketch out the changes that happened in their communal life over the years. And they made love so much that women don't want to talk about sex anymore.
