The year is 1974 and a terrible war wages across the continental United States, claiming the lives of millions and destroying entire swathes of the nation. The state of Texas has seceded from the union and has allied with the USSR in a communist coalition, bent on conquering free America. A civilian girl, Sierra Crenshaw, embarks on a quest to find her missing brother, with the help of veteran Luther Hudson and cousin Noah Whittaker. The trio of travelers encounter many characters - friends and foes - on their mission to rescue Brent Crenshaw.
