When Tillie left her country home for the seminary, she was just a plain Gawk, but when she returned a year later, she was a Glorious Butterfly. She gazed at her birth place and said it was a dump. She then started in on her father and told him that his hat was from the vintage of 1880; that his vest was tacky and that his shoes looked like a couple of mud scows. She advised her mother to get a long C.B.Q., and do something for her shape. Home cooking didn't suit her; she wanted grapefruit and sweetbreads instead of pigs knuckles and cabbage. She finally decided it was her destiny to be a star actress, so beat it to the city. But fame and fortune were not on hand to greet her. Tillie was an actress up to the time she tried to act, then she got canned. Then she was up against it, so she set sail for home, where things looked mighty good to her.
