He is a typical representative of our generation: discontented and aimless. His room is a self-made cell of isolation, and he only interacts with his computer. His desire to understand the world leads to stagnation. When the Internet dies one day, he is forced to confront his paralysing apathy. When he finds out that his roommate Simon hasn't much longer to live, the awareness that stagnancy also has consequences shakes up his consciousness, so he does not realize that the outside world is about to burst his soap bubble of oppressive security.
