Gunnar Strømvad

Gunnar Strømvad was a pupil of Eyvind Johan-Svendsen and Otto Lagoni. He went through The Royal Danish Theatre elevskole and then had his most tasks on tour, as well as on the frederiksbergske theatres. In teatersæsonen 1955-56 he played at Frederiksberg Theatre in "Jebberød bank", but is particularly remembered for his role as Jacob Shoemaker in "Jeppe on the Mountain", which he played with Osvald Helmuth as the opponent. A dozen years before his death he had been the Pierrot of the pantomime theatre in the Tivoli gardens. One of his last major roles was as Charley in The Danish Theatre's performance of "Death of A salesman". Gunnar Strømvad was also widely used in the radio. He was married to Emily Strømvad.
