The life of Gaucho was marked from his childhood by poverty and injustice. When his father dies in war, his little sister is taken and his family is expelled from the land. Hungry for justice, at the beginning of his youth, he enlists in the troops of Zalazar, a wily warrior at the service of the cause of the day. But the atrocities of that band force him to escape, becoming a deserter sentenced to capital punishment.\nRed altars rise every day alongside the roads in devotion to Gauchito Gil, pagan saint of the dispossessed, beheaded in the 19th century.
