Gérard Darrieu, born Gérard Raoul Julien Darrieumerlou September 11, 1925 in Arnicourt and died on January 22, 2004 in Paris, is a French actor. He started his career as a theatre decorator and assistant to the director. In 1946, he became actor, playing in theatre, film and television. He has been part for several years in The group Théophiliens, founded by Gustave Cohen in the 1930s. In the theatre, It is mounted on the boards of the parisian theatres under the direction of Robert Hossein and many others, including Louis Jouvet, Roger Planchon, Jean Vilar,Luchino Visconti and Roger Blin. His athletic ability and his deep voice gave him a strong presence on stage. He is buried in the cemetery of Saint-Ouen.
