This MGM short, part of the James A. Fitzpatrick Travetalks series, takes us to Japan just as the cherry blossoms come into bloom. They also cultivate tulips, and flower viewing is a major pastime. Japan is described as one large garden, not only of flowers and shrubs but also traditional rock gardens. Gardens are a work of art that often reflect the personality of the owner. A Japanese lady is shown having her hair dressed, an elaborate procedure that requires up to 2 hours to complete, and being dressed in a kimono - also a time-consuming process.
