Fernando Sánchez Polack

Luis Sánchez Polack was an actor tanning in minor roles in the Spanish cinema, and worked assiduously, in the sixties, with the directors from the Official School of Cinematography, who began to make films under the label of New Spanish Cinema, under the protectionist policy of the then minister of Information and Tourism, Manuel Fraga Iribarne, and its director general of Cinematography, Jose Maria Garcia Escudero. He made his debut in film in 1959, and from that time until his death he intervened as a secondary in over a hundred films, among them tens of "Spaghetti Western" on many occasions, recreating a stereotype of a recurrent character, tough and hard, but of good heart. The first film that gave fame to Sánchez Polack was The hunt (1966), by Carlos Saura, in which she played a peasant Spanish, the character that was repeated on other occasions with slight variations, is helped by his face austere and conducive to this type of roles. It was an excellent and sober actor, very appreciated by the most competent directors in the Spanish cinema which, in addition to its qualities as a performing, they felt their safety and professionalism. His appearances in theatre and television were more sporadic. Their facilities, given its rare and energetic, photogenic, and went for the next film, where he made excellent performances, in line with the large side of Spanish cinema. One of his last performances was in the series Verano azul (1981), of Antonio Mercero, where she played the waiter Vial. Despite his extensive experience in film, and to have participated regularly in the medium of television in spaces as Study 1, Novel, Curro Jiménez or The joys and shadows, it was this last character is one of the most popularity provided him.
