Édouard Delmont
Like many actors of his generation, he is most often credited under the simple name of Delmont. First blacksmith metalworker like his father, Édouard Philippe Clement Autran, he was hired as a machinist by the theatre of the Alcazar in Marseilles in 1914. Soon promoted to stage manager under the direction of Franck Esposito, he himself became a comedian to 1918, under the pseudonym of Delmont. His talent propelled him to the music-hall in Paris, where he joined other actors in marseille around Raimu. From 1931 and until his death in 1955, he dedicated himself mainly to the movies and will play in more than 80 films. It is one of the performers of the second rank, recurring many films of Marcel Pagnol, particularly in the trilogy of marseilles of Pagnol, where it changes its character from one film to another : area or second master in Marius (where he tries to convince Marius to board), he embodies the doctor Venelle (Félicien) in Fanny and César. Other a prominent figure in the little world of Pagnol, the fisher's Maillefer in the Wife of The baker : there is one who saw Jennie, the wife of the baker, but the long-story - no-one has the right to stop - crack the baker who takes it in the throat to make him talk ... He also plays Maître Cornille in the adaptation of Letters from my windmill by the same Pagnol or the right jack Amédée in Angela. He also plays the doctor Spiletti, who dies and rises again several times in Don Camillo.
