Jean Harlow was one of the most popular screen goddesses in her time. Made famous by her platinum crowning glory, many women in her time dyed their hair to copy her signature tresses. In a career that was tragically cut short after less than a decade, she left the world with priceless film classics such as Red-Headed Woman (1932), Dinner at Eight (1932), and Libeled Lady (1936). She passed away while still filming Saratoga in 1937, at a tender age of 26. Jean Harlow, whose real name was Harlean Carpenter, assumed her mom's maiden name to become her screen name. She did not actually dream to become a movie star. But, her mother, who failed in her own bid to break into Hollywood, incessantly pushed and groomed her to conquer the world of cinema.
