Das tanzende Wien (1927)

A paean in praise of three-quarter time in which Emperor Franz Josef (Eugen Burg) visits Heaven where he asks Mozart, Offenbach and Johann Strauß to use their influence to send back to earth the Spirit of the Waltz, which, he fears, is being superseded by an intrusive new type of music called jazz. Cut to earth and Germany and a cabaret star, Komtesse Frizzi Zirsky ( Lya Mara) who convinces Carl Conzaga (Arnold Korff), the father of her American lover, Johnny Conzaga (Ben Lyon).
