The plot of the film is tied in two temporary layers. The first of these dates back to 1979-1980, flowing mainly in the territory of the USSR; The second - to the years of the Great Patriotic War, while it affects the front line and the territory of Germany. In the bushes near the roadside connecting the airport with the northern city of Nardin, in a bag tied to an unusual knot, a dismembered corpse of a man missing in the late autumn of 1979 was found. In view of the particular features of the crime and its particularly dangerous nature, the case was assigned to the chief of the Criminal Investigation Department for particularly important cases. The detectives are on the trail of the main suspect - a taxi driver named Grigory Milinko. However, the further the matter progresses, the more confusing it becomes.
