The Chacal is a young man from a humble indigenous background, who, in a racist and classist society, has become an object of desire for the gay community in Mexico. A power structure has linked wealthy voyeurs with the sexually charged Chacal.   Renowned Mexican author Carlos Monsiváis has noted, "tens of thousands of young men who have discovered a dark lesson: «He who does not show himself, does not sell.» They live in Tepito, Nexa City and Iztapalapa, communities on the outskirts of Mexico City created by mass migration from rural states. ChakalMex is an intimate look at their lives.
