Canterlot high will be hosting a competition between schools, and Vice Principal Luna needs a new banner design for the occasion. She tasks three students to design it: Flash Sentry (a musician), Micro Chips (a science nerd), and Sandalwood (a New Age-style artist). Having nothing in common, the three of them come up with three different designs for the banner. While trying to integrate their designs into a whole, they get on each other's way and start arguing. They accidentally redesign the banner during the argument, but Luna likes the accidental combination. But then tasks them with replicating it, and they are uncertain how to do that.
