99 Percent Sure is a story about the difference between contentment and true happiness. Steven Paige wrote a best-selling book almost by accident, and at the age of 23, he has financial security and critical acclaim on his side. When Steven meets Val, a bookstore clerk who is both outspoken and sarcastic, it is obvious that the two are polar opposites. But just as Steven is drawn to Val's independent spirit, she is drawn to his humility and family-oriented nature. When a career opportunity in another state arises, Val feels the need to jump at the chance. She doesn't want to leave Steven behind, but he refuses to go along, fearful of leaving the cocoon of his safe and comfortable world.
