A look at Mexico City, with emphasis on its history, monuments, economy, leisure, and commitment to democracy. Home to nearly two million people, the city is marked by a history of transitions, recorded in monuments, such as those to Mexican independence, to friendship with the United States, to Benito Juarez, and to the Mexican revolution and constitution. We see the Palace of Fine Arts and some of the city's social centers. Foreign enterprises, including MGM, have offices here, symbolizing international trade. The charm of yesterday is found at the National Palace and Chapultepec Castle. Then it's on to a bullfight, a polo match, and the Mexico City Country Club.
