Struggling to stay afloat, the best friends and business associates, Trifonas and Agop, witness firsthand the difficulties of selling in instalments. In the meantime, their enterprising buddy, Fondas, too, realises that his constant brushes with the law can only spell trouble, and as if that weren't enough, the landlady's beautiful niece, Keti, feels that the seductive cabaret singer, Beba, is behind the sudden change of her fiancé, Kostas.
