Today in France and throughout the world, thousands of women die because they are women. Less well diagnosed than men, less quickly treated, they escape the medical radar. This study focuses on the delay in the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease in women and traces how, at each stage, women suffer a loss of opportunity. To understand the deep reasons for this discrimination, it is necessary to go back to the origins of medicine and to hysteria. It is also necessary to go back to the history of women and drugs, marked by the Thalidomide and Distilbene scandals.
