Youssef, director, in his fifties, prepares a film and makes scouting in the south of Tunisia. He travels the region, records images, meets a beautiful shepherdess during his stay in a mysterious village, before getting lost in the night. His 4x4 breaks down in the desert. He finds himself left in the middle of nowhere. He starts looking for help and sees only sand around him. His car becomes his only landmark. It is also his means of resistance, thanks to the contents of the trunk where dragging beside scenarios, photos and other papers, a few bottles of water and biscuits - Resigned, Youssef settles under a makeshift shelter and continues to dream of his film. In the meantime, his assistant and his script are looking for him. To find it, they crisscross the region and we discover different scenery and live different scenes that are at the same time seen or imagined by the director - This one also draws characters who appear before him. Youssef gets lost in the hallucination, when he realizes that he is playing the main role of his film .
