Amaryllis (1959)
Having condemned himself to self-exile, living like a recluse in his isolated mansion protected by impregnable iron gates, an embittered father has lost all hope on love after his wife's betrayal. To spare his beloved only daughter, Amaryllis, the pain of a broken heart, the grizzled parent rules his household with an iron fist, keeping the young woman on a tight lease for fear of falling in love with the wrong man. Before long, much to his disappointment, the handsome university student, Stefanos, enters the picture, and as Amaryllis lays eyes on him, a passionate, clandestine romance blooms. However, is Stefanos the one?
