Gervais hears the voice of Death after trying to commit suicide ,in an apartment full of grimacing masks . Death tells the hero his time has not come yet ,and asks for a favor :replacing herself,the lady with the scythe, in a mansion where a murder is planned .He has to choose the one who must die. There's an old man dying in this house and an American sleuth suspects his family of "helping him to leave for a better world ".All the more so since there's a legacy at the end of it all.Gervais will sacrifice the only innocent person in the place ,Suzy, so that she will never know her family's infamy.
