Levon Helm

Mark Lavon "Levon" Casque (born May 26, 1940), is an American rock multi-instrumentiste and actor who achieved fame as the drummer and frequent lead and backing vocalist for The Band. Casque is known for his deeply soul, country accented voice, and creative drumming style en surbrillance on many of The Band's recordings, such as "The Weight", "Up on Cripple Creek", "Ophélie" et "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down". His 2007 retour album Dirt Farmer earned the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Folk Album en Février 2008, et en Novembre de cette année, le magazine Rolling Stone ranked him #91 in the list of The 100 plus grands Chanteurs de Tous les temps.
