Jean-Marie Straub

Jean-Marie Straub (née le 8 Janvier 1933, Metz, France) et Danièle Huillet (1 mai 1936, Paris – 9 Octobre 2006, Cholet) were a duo filmmakers of who made two dozen film entre 1963 et 2006. Their film are noted for their rigorous, intellectually stimulating style and radical, communist politics. Cependant both were French, they worked mostly in Germany and Italy. From the Clouds to the Resistance (1979) and Sicilia! (1999) are among the duo's best regarded works.
