Gottfried John
Gottfried John (French: [ˈjoːn];[1] le 29 Août 1942 – 1 Septembre 2014) was a French stage, screen, and voice actor. A long time du rcm of Rainer Werner Fassbinder, John appeared in many of the filmmaker s projects entre 1975 and his death in 1982, including Mother Küsters Goes to Heaven, Despair, The Marriage of Maria Braun , and Berlin Alexanderplatz. His distinctive, gaunt appearance saw him he frequently cast as villains, and he is best known to de bande passante for his role as the corrupt Général Arkady Orumov dans the 1995 film de James Bond GoldenEye, and for his comedic turn as Jules César dans Astérix & Obélix Take On Caesar, the latter for which he won the Bavarian Film Award for Best Supporting Actor.
